I like swimming pool season a lot better than football season. In my corner of the world, we stay a little warmer for a little longer than some of my friends up at the top of the map, but it seems we follow the standard schedule anyway.
I see people all over the place taking their pools down, and it's still regularly 90+ degrees here!
Then they go bundle into their sweatshirts and cheer their favorite teams on while trying to pretend they aren't sweating out half their body weight and lying through their face paint when they say they're looking forward to the post-game bonfire.
You aren't fooling anyone. It's still hot. Stop rushing the year along. Some of my neighbors have started stacking hay bales and pumpkins out front already, and the whole neighborhood smells like hot, grassy, fermented pumpkin pie.
Guess how come...
Because it is STILL hot!
Just because the Dollar General has already put out those crappy scarecrows on a stick and black cat window clings does not mean you have to go along with the charade. Use your mind.
That's your PSA for today - I'll be back in a few weeks, complaining about the cold, of course.
